took my NBME today and got a pathetic score.........250. My uwsa one month ago was 460, uw qbank.unsed 54%. Such a hugh dip, I can't stop crying now. I was about to send in exam application today but now all my plans are shattered. And just to let u know I was not under any stress or disturbance whil taking this NBME. I never got such horrible score during previous NBMEs done for other steps. Should I totally drop the idea of taking step 3.

Don't worry. NBME score does not predict exam score as accurate as it does for step 1 and 2. I did not even bother to appear for NBME before step 3. In fact no assessment is accurate for step 3. No UW nor kaplan, nothing. There will be many questions which will be very hard to answer for anyone and not just for you. Ignore those questions and mark your best choice and move ahead. Manage your time smartly and finish all the questions in the exam.

Try to cover as much as you can in CCS section. 7 out of 9 CCS cases will be very easy and will be from common medical conditions.

So don't feel depressed and finish this horrible USMLE journey as soon as possible. Once finished, whole world will be different for you. You will be out of this mental stress forever..........

@pyrimidine I now regret about taking NBME but whats done is done now. I really do want this step 3 to be over soon. Its becoming unbearable to keep mine as well as my family's life on hold.Thanks fr your suggestions

Just dont worry about NBME. My NBME score was 270, 15 days before the exam and I still passed. So cheer up, do CCS very very well.

mydreams....dont worry about NBME scores....its not representative at all....but gives you an idea of pattern of questions....if you have time....revise kaplan step 2 lecture notes...especially medicine, surgery and O&G...if possible do it all.....if you dont have time....just revise surgery kaplan notes(lecture).....GL!

I took NMBE and had a hooorrribbbllee score.but my eligibility period was ending.
I went ahead and took it.got 79 but my point is NMBE score Does NOt reflect your actual one.
If ur UW score is better, i would say think again to take the exam.
