for earlt mechanical bowel obsrtuction do we observe or do reoperation

depends on clinical condition.......
if acute abdomen.....pain/swe/rigi/guard plus vital unsta-----resuscitate and open

paralytic ileus usually occurs in post op pt and usually transient (2-3 days). and rx with NGT,ivf, ambulation, electrolyt imbelance correction. some times colonic decompression for extreme distention ,these are function bowel obsruction.
in mechanical SBO if partial,same conservative rx as above and they generally open up if complete obs and no sings of vascular compromise such as ischemia, resuscitive measures for 6-8 hrs and than operate, obstruction with vascular compromise operate emergently
