kababayan ka ba na magpapa-match? - jocapmd
Honestly, slim chance even if you know somebody from the program. Do plan B instead so that i will be not that painful. I did Family Nurse Practitioner Program and i just graduated this month. I did USMLESTEp 3 and works in ICU 2000 graduate. Just my 2 cents. i just want to be realistic and save you some money.

Di Ko Alan Kung paano pa ako makakabawi and I know mas lalo lumiit ang chance Ko mamatch kasi I took step 3 and hindi ako pinalad. And the sad thing is, nag try ako mag apply this year sa match and walang IV.

Please be reminded theirs a lot of fields that you can still shine and have a comfortable life.
Just be realistic and put all the reamining resources you have in the field with value. You can take up nursing or P.A. Doing nursing you can still earn 130k-150k a year thats working 12 hours shift per day 5 days a week no on call but if you are that's time and half salary per hour. Remember OBAMA is pro midlevel providers like NPs and PAs. The leaders for his plan this coming 2014 are the nurses. The lesson is DO PLAN B!!

Hi,

I have research positions available in different states and in different (sub)specialties which include cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary, surgery, sleep medicine, and neurology. The states include PA, NY, IL, MI, MD and TX at this point. The majority of the positions are in universities, and some of them are in universities that are among the top 10 in the U.S. You can contact me for details.
If you're looking for a different state or (sub)specialty, I can help too. I just need you to be specific and help me understand what you’re looking for.

If interested, contact me at zabinski2009. Provide some brief info about yourself, your visa status, your USMLE scores, what (sub)specialty, which state, when you want to start and for how long.
In the subject, please mention what you’re looking for. For example: “Endocrine research in Chicago.”

Thank you.

Been thinking about having another option as well. How do you get into the NP program?

Hi everyone! Simbang-gabi na!

Hi filipino - First of all, congrats on your interview. Like they say, you only need one to match, so make it really good. Also, congrats on your NP degree. I agree with you. There is definitely nothing wrong in planning for a fall-back option or a plan B. This is optimistic and realistic at the same time and as long as you are pursuing both with passion, you will be happy whichever path you decide to take.

I did have a plan B also. I was supposed to do an MPH in California. But then, the stars aligned and everything fell into place and here I am doing residency. The thing is that, everything boils tdown to good planning para ma-maximize ang resources, time and effort. Ask for advice and help, walang masama and to those who are in a crossroad (lahat naman ata tayo e hehe), just ask away.

chelsie - Dapat yata RN ka to be an NP, tama ba ako filipino? So, dapat may NCLEX, CGFNS, etc etc. Di ako sure though. To be a PA naman, considered sya as a Master's program dito sa US. So it's at least at 24-month program. Full-time sutdy ito. you can research programs depending on which state/institution you prefer. Then malalaman mo ang process how to apply. Good luck!

Merry Christmas everyone!
