There was a question in nbme1, a man ( 60y)has high blood pressure, like 180/110, smoked for 30 years, in abdomen a bruit is heard in right upper quadrant, and what is the cause of the bruit, BUN is 23, cr 1.4.
a. Accumulation of lipids in the arterial wall

b.Hypertrophy of the arterial wall media

I thought A, answer is b, anyone can explain, I thought atherosclerosis. Is it aneurysm?

I thought it's aneurysm, usually arterial wall is thinner in aneurysm.

Hypertrophy should be in lt heart chamber bec of high bP,
