Dear everyone
I didnt know one day I would be writing this
after reading this from many people in the forum.
I am a 2009 August who did well in medical school
everyone encouraged me and told me that I would do great !
Have
87/91/CS (3)/76
Green Card
2 publicaitons 2 abstracts(US)
4 Us letters from Chief of GI ID
Electives 3 months
externships 12 months
Research Post doc
Still I didnt get anything from Patho, IM or FM
I guess It is time for me to except reality
I am putting in the towel and thinking of going back to my country
Why waste my talent at a place where I am nobody
Noone cares for me
I am just another attempter
no matter what i do my 2 attempts at CS which i took in a hurry cuz of really bad advice
nothing is going to change that.
Is it over
I feel I am giving up today
even after asking so many ppl I couldnt get any invitations as yet
Do you guys agree?

People are telling me to apply for Psychiatry but I refuse to apply any more
already have blown 3400 $
I just want to cry
I feel like such a big loser !
After doing years of research and everything
I am still a big Nobody

well its not over til its over ... u applied and payed this yr , so u might as well follow thru ... try contacting firneds from ur school who r already residenys here , maybe they can show ur CV to thier PD.

i know 2 people from my school with CS attempts who matched last yr

dude, I am almost in the same shoes as you are right now, am working as a post odc and checking me ERAS every 2 min. nothing so far, but hey we have come so far,we have been through so much,if anything now is not the time to giveup. I only have one recommendation. since you have good research background try to aplly to some ABIM programs,i have been to several seminars that indicate severe shortage of physician scientists.

relax.............i can right now list 3-4 friends of mye with almost similar credntials make it up...............establish contacts.......assertion why u have to twice in cs............i think u can make it.............nothing is impossible ....only prayer sincere can defenitly help you............good luck and god bless you .

By the way u mentioned GI and ID. Have u been associated with USF by any chance?

pathoguy, don't give up! Have you ever read Three Cups of Tea? A great book that shows how you can achieve something if you really want it.

Pathoguy, Please don't give up. definitely, you have lots chances. Just the systems drove all of us crazy. you will be fine...
