if a young girl 14 yo has asd and she wants to join sports ..the correct answer is allow her to participate in sports but recommend echo .. why echo here ? this is a silly question but i'm not getting it ? echo we usually do for detecting abnormal wall movement right ?

I believe you do an EKG..but not sure

ECHO is for much more than wall motion abnormalities..It is also good for assessment of valves and intracardiac masses....etc
In this case of ASD, it is recommended to assess 2 things:
pulmonary hypertension
myocardial dysfunction
