3) UAB Montgomery, AL.
4) AtlantiCare, NJ
5) NSLIJ Forest Hills, NY.
6) San Joaquin General Hospital, CA.
7) St. Vincent Charity, OH.

Waiting for your comments. Good luck everyone in the match.

I will put San Joaquin last, it is the most shitty program and you will suffer with the heavy workload.

I just wonder why st. luke so high ( should be 5 or 6 ) and atlanti care and forest hills so low.
At thhe end its ur call.

@unimd: Its already second last so pretty much at the bottom. As far as workload I thought it was the opposite and the residents didn't have good exposure because of lack of diversity as far as patient population and pathology is concerned.

@wondermatch1: kinda confused i personally found Atlanticare more vibrant and better managed program then St.luke's but i guess i went with st.luke's reputation, desirable location and good fellowship placement compared to Atlanticare and foresthills.

Would you like to comment more on negatives of st.luke's and positives of atlanticare and foresthills......!

st. luke - better location ( agree ), fellowship placement were good even at other hospitals till they have cardiology fellowship, recently there reputation is having a downward trend and they have close down cardiology fellowship and now the residents are less preffered for fellowship in other hospitals.

now st. luke vs atlanti and foresthills - st. lukes is relaxed program with less pt load, very less diversity in ppo and atlanti and foresthills are vibrant with high pt load, diverse pathology ( NY, NJ area ) - so it depends on u want to live in a good location with less of work and compromise on your learning during training or u want to live in an less desirable location, hell of work and compromise ur family life.

CHOICE IS YOURS Smile

Thanks a lot for your update. you have a very valid point. I am impressed by your assessment. I will give it a second thought.

Coming to Atlanticare VS Foresthills. How would you compare those as far as fellowship placement is concerned and standard of training?

Good luck !

Well regarding fellowship both the programs are the same but the traniing looks much better and agressive in Atlanticare. In atlanticare you have to run between the two hospitals which are little bit far from each other ( I dont know if u can consider it as a negative point ).

What I will suggest u and everyone take a pen and a paper make a list of 10 - 12 criterias u can consider ( try to think as much criteria as u can ) and give points for each criteria like for location u can consider good location - 3 points, average - 2, poor - 1. Similarly, do this for other criterias and add the no of points and according to this rank the program. I also started a thread on the list of criterias, will try to find it out. Thats what I did and it was easy for me to make my ROL.

I know this exercise will take a lot of time but its better then relying on someone else suggestion.

Thanks 4 ur wishes & Good luck with everything!!!.
