a virus infects bactaria producing a lytic infection, the virus takes over the bactarial machinery to replicate its own genetic material. As a result of infection, some of the bactarial DNA fragments are packed into virions instead of the viral genome.ths virons are characterised by which of the following?

ABILITY TO INFECT CELLS ABILITY TO PRODUCE PROGENY
A yes yes
B yes no
C no yes
D no no

THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE PROGENY DEPEND ON PRESENCE OF SUPPRESOR ENZYME ,,SO IF SUPRESSOR ENZYME PRESENT ,,THE VIRION WILL ACT AS LATENT PROGEY AND DIVIDED NORMALY AS BACTERIAL CELL DIVIDED AND PRODUCE MORE PROGENY,,,,,,,B,,,,,
SODIUM,,,,WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BET. VIRIONS AND VIRAL GENOME?

"Virulent Phage":

-virus that upon infecting a bacteria(#A), immediately multiply and Lyse the bacteria (Lytic Infection)
-during virion assembly by mistake if the "Bacterial genome" get packed into the head of the one of the newly generated virus (instead of viral genome)...now this virus carrying bacterial genome is called "Transducin Phage"

"Transducin Phage"

-can still go and infect another bacteria(#B).
-since it is not carrying viral genome, so it wont be able to produce offsprings (no viral progeny)
-upon infecting ,it releases bacterial DNA fragment (from previously infected bacteria #A) and now this Fragment transfers gene to bacterial DNA of #A bacteria by the process of "Homologus Recombination"...................this is the way "Generalized TRANSDUCTION" works.

-Generalized Transduction----"Assembly Error"
-Specialized Transduction-----"Excision Error" (can read in kaplan LN)
