thanks a lot. thats immensely helpful if you know the jargons. what is tyd, state withholding,yonkerws etc? also it doesn't indicate if the taxes are different for h1b visa people.
can you give me an approximate idea?

well
withholdings are what the employers keeps and sends to the irs as part of your tax. then once a year you calculate your taxes and if you owe you pay and if you payed too much you get your money back! I am not familiar with NY taxes but as H1b you pay every tax. YTD is year-to date. (you can leave that blank) allowances are usually related to the dependants in your household... You have to go and read about taxes. try wikipedia. ballpark estimate... I would say around 3150 monthly.
