Hi everyone!
I need advice abt medical scribe job in IM.
I have an offer and I think it's good buz it's like apiad observership
So I can afford my child day care as well commute expenses plus will save something for applications.
On the other hand it's not externship and I won't be able to study for step 3..
Any suggestions?

I have no experience but this wht doc told me.
Sign into EMR systems and the healthcare organization computer
Review prior medical records and brief provider
Record patient history and chief complaints
Perform real time charting
Increase chart accuracy
Record consultations with healthcare professionals, patients, and family members
Track lab and X-ray results and other patient evaluation data to aid provider
Record provider-dictated diagnoses and prescriptions
Prepare plans for discharge and/or follow-up care
Medical scribes do not touch patients or perform any clinical tasks

I worked as a scribe for a few months. It was not getting me any clinical experience. Very clerical job with minimal pay, hours were crazy and since I have kids, I was paying most of what I made to my babysitter. If you want to pursue experience for residency application, I wouldn't advice you to work as a scribe.
