Dear ERAS 2012 Applicant:

Now that you have registered at MyERAS and have been issued your AAMC identification number, we highly urge you to follow these guidelines:

1.Before selecting your programs, inquire about individual program deadlines and the minimum eligibility requirements to be selected for an interview.
2.Verify that you are eligible for a state medical license in the respective states in which you intend to apply.
3.Register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) in order to participate in the NRMP Match.
4.Carefully complete your MyERAS application. Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make changes. Wait until you are ready to apply to programs; then submit your MyERAS application. This will ensure the most up-to-date information is captured.
5.When mailing documents, complete and print the necessary forms such as the Document Submission Form (DSF) and the Letter of Recommendation coversheet.
Important Note: If your letter writer is submitting your LoR using the Letter Writer Portal (LWP) or if your medical school is authorized to upload documents through the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP), the DSF and Letter of Recommendation coversheet are not required. For complete information regarding EMSWP and the LWP, go to: www.ecfmg.org/eras 6.You and/or your medical school should begin submitting documents according to the requirements specified at www.ecfmg.org/eras.
7.For documents that have been mailed, periodically track their receipt using the "Verify Receipt of Document" page in your OASIS account. For processing times, please visit http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/#app.
Documents uploaded through the EMSWP will be processed within 48 hours. Letters of recommendation received through the LWP will be processed within two weeks. 8.Monitor the status of your ERAS application regularly using the Applicant Document Tracking System (ADTS) located on the AAMC MyERAS homepage at https://services.aamc.org/eras/myeras2012/.

The MyERAS User Guide and all related resources are located at the AAMC ERAS website at https://www.aamc.org/students/medstudent...urces.html .

Repeat Applicants are those who participated in ERAS 2011 and are now participating in ERAS 2012. Special instructions for Repeat Applicants have been posted on the ECFMG ERAS website at http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/repeat.html . Please read these instructions carefully.

We also urge you to sign up for your free subscription of the ECFMG - ERAS electronic newsletter. We will continue to provide you with periodic updates during the ERAS 2012 season: http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/erasnews.html

In conclusion, the AAMC and the ECFMG Medical Education Credentials Committee reviews all allegations reported to both organizations regarding "irregular behavior". Some examples of "irregular behavior" are personal statement plagiarism and/or falsifying or altering any documents submitted to ECFMG or submission of falsified or altered ECFMG documents to other entities or individuals. Details about "irregular behavior" can be found at the AAMC ERAS and ECFMG ERAS homepage respectively.
