I heard someone saying that the number of US medical student positions was increased 4 years back and they are all applying to this match. This might be the reason for low iv calls to all IMGs?

ive heard that too. it not only fromUS medical schools, but also from caribbean med schools too

That's true guys....There were a gap of 7000 positions between US graduates and all residency positions till now. Which were filled out by IMGs but in last few years most of US med schools increase their positions and some new med school opened too. So now that 7000 gap is filled up, by next year there will be equal or more US grads than residency positions. From next year residency is going to be more hard for IMGs. I got this news from IM Program Director.

good q mus80, how much is a worthless ECFMG certificate/Fifth Pathway certifcate, really, worth?
