Sorry this may be out of topic, but do you get full refund of income tax on a J1 visa...TIA

my logic would think even if you had a visa, as long as you are being taxed on your US income, then you should also be allowed to get a refund once deductibles are considered.

this is only a guess based of my federal bracket of 25% and Pennsylvania income tax of 3.04% should come out to about roughly estimated 2800 a month with a biweekly check of 1400.

2800 per month not too bad, may be 800 dollars for apt and 400 $ for car, $500 other expenses. looks we cant save even for peanuts.

so 400 for car, 800 apt, 500 others, 400+800+500= 1700
2800-1700= $1100?

so whats 1100 for?

the bi weekly check i think includes health insurance and dental for ur self, but have to add for dependents , car insurance runs around 600-700$ i guess, plus cost of gas depends on ur commute etc, if in NY city than ur apt may cost more so its almost same for gas expenses etc everywhere, i think 200 or so a month if ur commuting alot?

All that said, 700$ a month still left? out of 1100$ may b? what are ur views guys?

for the state license does our med school dean need to send the signed document again or if we are ecfmg certified everything will be provided by ECFMG to the state board?

For me I figure 800 in rent, 200 utilities, 300 food, 70 car insurance, 400 car, 200 in etc expenses
