will lupus nephritis have proteinuria > 3.5?
if yes...if the proteinuria >3.5 isnt it now nephrotic syndrome??????????? ANYONE

In SLE pt if PU greater than 2g per day its Lupus nephritis e elevated BUN and cr and treatment depends on renal function and degree of proteinuria. IF proteinuria atleast greater than 3.5g per day is NS.

well i came across a qs in usmle world where protein was 4 ..but the diagnosis was lupus nephiritis...how is this possible?

Lupus nephritis e poor prognosis can show up e heavy proteinuria esp if pt has long Hx of SLE/ type 3-4 of Lupus nephritis.
