Accomodation in DC area - soccerdoc

Hi , i'm starting a volunteer research job soon and need a place to rent while i'm there. Any ideas please???

you might have to stay out in Silver Spring, and stay close to the Red line, that will take you straight to Howard, or maybe down Georgia Avenue (also Silver Spring) and take the bus?

Howard area is kind of shady, and that includes the Capitol too...

Its volunteer which sucks as staying within DC is expensive. If you are subleasing, it'll be hard to get anything under $800. Check craigslist, but also have someone physically go and check out the place you'll be staying b4 you actually go down there.

NW area of Dc or stay in maryland

Agree withh docoo and lifestyle. However, I would also look in areas around the green line (maybe greenbelt) as it runs to the Howard University metro station.
