Hi,

Congratulations to those who got matched! I have a question to bother you. If somebody has 4 CS attempts, decent step1 and step2 CK scores (all 1st attempt), good publications (1st author in Science and Molecular Cell), is doing cancer and stem cell research in top 20 university, US citizen, graduated 20 years ago, what is the chance to get matched? What is needed to improve (English, interview skills, connections, PS, observership, externship, LOR, step3)? If matched,which specialty is most likely in order? Thanks and best of luck!

4 CS attempts will unfortunately be a deal breaker for most programs. the best thing to do is apply widely (several hundred programs if you can) to community programs in rural/undesirable locations and use professional contacts who can vouch for you (since you did research maybe this will help?) Either way, your YOG and 4 CS attempts will make matching an uphill battle. best of luck to you.
