Child protective services -

Is it true that when a child comes to the emergency room with poisoning or drug overdose, the doctor should call poison control? And if so, is it then required by law to call child protective services?

Kindly help by quoting your references.

Thank you Adam. Is drug overdose in the pediatric age group an indication for informing Poison Control? If a child happens to overdose with drugs, would it be counted as neglect on the part of the child's care takers, and would that necessitate a report to the Child Protective Services? I would be grateful if someone can provide me with some link or reference as to their opinions.
