With your MD degree you can get a CRA position but, you have to be prepared. Most CRO's will not take you unless you have some research monitoring experience. It does not require ECFMG per say. A starting salary should be between $40,000 and $60,000.

Remember, you get paid what you negotiate for yourself. If you dont counter offer an offer of $25,000 per year then thats what you will get paid.

The website below has some insights on clinical research monitoring

SEEKING CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE US?

We can arrange for electives if you're still a student, and externship if you have graduated already. We have a slot available in some of the top universities in the US.
Contact us at ImproveCVForMatch2014. Mention if you're a graduate or a student (which year), your visa status, what specialty you're looking for, and preferred locations. Also include brief info about yourself and USMLE scores.

Thank you.
