I need guide for residency registering - usmlecb

I have passed usmle step 1 and 2 ck. I want to register for residency that begin in july-2013. I was in ECFMG website. ECFMG says:
1. Prior to applying via ERAS, contact your programs of interest to determine their minimum eligibility criteria, ERAS application deadlines, licensure requirements, and institutional policies about visas, if applicable. Much of this information can be found on each program’s website.
2. Obtain a Residency Token via ECFMG’s OASIS.
Should I foind program before to register? My usmle is from 15 years ego and I do not know which program can I apply. Can I first pay for Residency token and then try to finnd residency program?

You can research programs criteria by using FREIDA search.

As far as getting a token, it has its advantages:
-You can start uploading LOR's
-Upload MSPE
-Upload med transcript

The reason the token is available now is so that these things can be on your profile by August that way they are for sure there when apps are sent out Sept 15th.

So get the token and start working on the above items.

You just need to have your CS taken and ECFMG cert in progress as well.

WAIT.... there is a hitch, was your usmle exams given 15 years ago? aren't they valid only for 7 years and then after that you have to retake?
