hey man...relax...all this is part of the learning curve. U shd learn with it instead of being on the defensive....

1. U failed to address PD by name
2. U asked questions that were already answered on the programs website (these are things that can be an issue for interviews too. Interviewers wont be enthused to hear questions that u would have had....just by reading their websites).

Sorry for your bad experience. But take it in a positive light instead of thinking the PD is rather wrong

agree with nrmp2012 and to add on,,
-still apply there, maybe PD may view you your application differently - must have been a knee jerk reaction email and PD may have calmed down by then
