Program chair LOR? - 100cats

Hi..I did residency from my home country and am applying for the same speciality for this match...Is the letter from program chair from my home country an absolute necessity?

you will have to call the program itself to find out.

Some programs don't require a Chair letter.
Others can be lenient, some absolutely require it. So why not get one, file it in and then it gives you more flexibility to decide whom you can sent it to.

@peppino...My issue is that the current program chair is different from the one I trained with.So from whom should I get?

oh I am not sure. For me I am still in school so I would just get it from my current chair.

But you will have to contact the program to clarify, unless someone else on this forum is in the same situation and they might be able to give you more insight

For IMGs they arent obsessed with the concept of a LOR from Program Chair

Chair letters from overseas or any LOR from overseas is considered worthless so don't worry about it.
