Does ERAS automatically tell program directors that you are a repeat applicant?
I've read that it doesn't and that the PDs need to do extra work to check if you applied to them last year.
What do you think?

I thought ERAS did so, but could be a rumor.
Also, I do not think repeat applicant is as bad as it looks.

It's really important for some reasons:
- be ready for the question: why do you think you didn't match last year?
- avoid applying to programs that have a reputation for filtering out repeats
- talking about it in the personal statement
Anyone?
