not FMG friendly - lauren
#1
Most of those programs are not FMG friendly programs. The county programs, such at LAC-USC are ok....but many programs, will not even interview you if you're a foreign grad, or if they do interview you, look back at their past graduates -- did anyone from a foreign med school get in? or is it a hopeless interview. I am from one of the programs in Los Angeles and involved in the interviewing of applicants --- we interview only FMGs with great scores --- but we don't even rank them after they come for interviews....so it's a waste of time. I suspect that this practice is done elsewhere too. So stick with the county programs in california.
good luck.

I realized that this didn't post exactly where it was suppose to.

I was answering the question in regards to a list of California internal medicine programs for categorical.

Again, not being a foreign grad I can only guess how frustating this process is for everyone. So keep up the effort.
