#1
A new test to diagnose urinary tract infections in women is being evaluated. the comparison gold standard is positive urine dipstick plus urine culture. Results of the study are given below:

------------------------------------------ (Test Positive) --- (Test Negative)

Positive Urine Dipstick and Culture -------- 60 -------------- 140
Negative Urine Dipstick and Culture ------- 20 -------------- 180

What is the test Specificity ?

Specificity = TN / TN+ FP = 180 / 180 + 20 = 90 %
