I did an interview in a new program. They said will be having fellowships program in next 2-3 years ..

Is it good idea to match there?

just depends on what you want...there are pros and cons to new programs. Pros: you get to be a leader, help set the base for the program, get to work directly with Attendings. Cons: since its new they will still have some kinks they have to work out so youll be almost like the guinea pig for them helping them figure out what to change/improve based on your experience so you want get a cookie cutter experience. As for fellowship chance with a new program, I have no idea sorry

I would love to go for a new programme - will get a lot of hands on experience. Also with all the glitches a new programme may have, one would get so much exposure to handle everything and come out tops at the end of the residency.

Is this about the new programme in VA?
