what is a good strategy for step 3 studying? -

what are the good books? cd's? notes?
when is a good time to take it..before or during residency?
is it much like step 2?
how many weeks is good to study for it?

Look at your previous result if you have failed and see what are your weak topics and study good. Do case managements well, check criteria for treatment..i.e. why to admit patient or to send home, if you need surgical intervention and why...
Don't make an attempt on Step 3 unless you feel you have covered all areas and go thru quick review before exam... I passed 190/78... in other 2 failed tries.. was getting 73 & 74.

you can use probably the guidelines from the Pubmed for updated management. Do not forget that think as general physician not specialist. Do you have Kaplan cd, how to prepare for exam? try to get one. Do not use many learning sources. concentrate yourself only on one source and be good in that one. good luck faro
