I know someone whot got matched in anaesthesi this year. She/he did anaethesia in homecountry, was working as a research fellow in one of the top research clinic in US, has 1 publication and had scores 230s. Hope this will help.

I know a case who did anesthesia back home with 99/99 still didn't apply in that. Surgical branches are really hard to get for img

I dont think anything but personal connections make up for poor scores for fmgs.

I would THINK anesthesia is becoming less competitive now a days since they are hiring more of those CRNAs....I have seen major surgeries been monitored by CRNAs in room...no anesthesiologist around...So it would make sense that anesthesiologist would be less in demand now...no?
