Hi Guys

I am applying for anesthesia as well...have low scores but do have a fellowship in anesthesia from home country plus green card.

Do I have a chance?
Please advice.

No one can tell your chance with that little information.
Green card helps, Home training helps or not. Low scores seems bad.

IMG, no visa needed, one publication, letters from UCLA. Also applyint to programs in CA (have a PTAL).

Strong letter will help, generic letter won't.
1st author in Nature will help. 5th author in xxx journal won't.

@ehan, only applying to 3: Loma Linda, USC, Cedars...it's just way too competitive here. I'm only applying to those programs bc I live and work here.

Hey why don't you apply for ucla program?
You have letters from ucla..
I guess you did rotation or research there right?
If you know someone there, it will help.
I know its very competitive but you have better chance there than other places.
