Hi rukhz, low mg level can cause tetany despite normal ca.

Some cases of refractory tetany which not respond to ca , u need to check serum mg.

Okay..ya you are right but hypomagnesemia would cause hypocalcemia n cause tetany as its a cofactor for adenylate cyclase which is required to priduce CAMP necessary for PTH secretion.
Any other than Dat buggug like lets say Increase in Ph can respiratory alkalosis cause tetany?we have total serum ca normal there? |
