What is courtesy interview? Every interview is real no matter you get it by contacts or without.

You know it's a courtesy interview when you do not meet the program requirements e.g lower scores, yog > that program requirement & most importantly, if your contact does not have strong influence at the final ranking.

You know when it is a courtesy interview. ....You are close to program/pd/pc/influential attending , and you quite dont fit The profile of The Other candidades (or you might, dependiente on The program) BUT, to be honest, you have The asume chance to nail it and get The position as much as any Other candidate

courtesy interview is when you got the interview through a contact and you dont rly meet their prereqs or you arent like the other applicants (you are IMG and applicants are all AMG) ...BUT i agree with step3md....just because its a courtesy interview doesnt mean you cant match there. chance may be smaller but its better than 0% chance without the interview. You have the interview, then you have a chance to really impress them. GL!

Once you get interview everything depends on your interview. They do consider score while making rank order list. But still interview has the highest consideration for match.
