whats the purpose of midodrine & octeoride in HRS?

cirrhosis causes systemic vasodilatation which decreases blood flow to the kidney, activating RAS.

Midodrine which is an alpha agonist and octreotide will both cause VC to increase the mean arterial pressure and increase the blood flow to the kidney to decrease the renal damage.

They help but the only definitive treatment is liver transplant.
