Please help me rank these IM programs
1.University of Illinois Urbana
2.Western Michigan Kalamazoo
3.St Peter University Hospital NJ
4.Albert Einstein New Rochelle
5.Union Memorial Baltimore
6.Cook County

So first how do you put those programs in order based on your preferences and your impressions during the interviews?

6 being the highest

What are you aiming for? Fellowship, primary care or hospitalist ?

I dont know. I like nephro but it seems there is less scope in nephrology here.
2nd option would be Cardio

Which of these has in house fellowships / best fellowship placement? I would make sure those are at the top of your list (assuming they recruit from within)

4, 6 ( clinical exposure), 7. I don't know much about the other but probably 1, and 2 above 3 and 5

Totally depends on what you are looking for, both geographically and in terms of academics/fellowship opportunities. U of I Urbana is a great program, but it is in a location that some younger people don't like. Disagree with ranking Cook County #1 unless you must be in Chicago. Happy to talk more about this if you'd like

If u ask my gut feeling, I really liked Urbana and Kalamazoo IV, but based upon fellowship chances, I am not sure they are great or not esp when it comes to competitive fellowships.
