residancy in nephrology and neurology - goldglory

hi everyone .how hard is it to get into these programs for an FMG?

Nephrology is a subspecialty of Internal Medicine. You have to complete a 3 year internal medicine residency first, then a 2 year nephrology fellowship.

neurology is not that hard to get into compared to radiology, derm, ortho, ent; but it is more competitive than IM and FM b/c there are not as many positions available... i am an fmg (US citizen) and i matched into a neuro program (st. louis univ).. 2002 grad, got 80s on both my steps (passed both on first try), US LORs, research here... scores are not important, but they like it a lot more if people pass the USMLEs on the first shot and they look at your cv to gauge your interest in the field... i will say it again, it is competitive, but fmgs can match into it...
