-Passed all this exams in first attempt;

Step 2 CK passed (251)
Step 2 CS passed
-Applied 100 IM categorical program, all states, and Had no (0) interview

2015 application
-had 8 publications, first author in last three
-4 LOR from US doctors, two LORs from academic hospital Observership and research experience. Two LORs from private doctor office
-Passed all this exams in first attempt;

Step 2 CK passed (251)
Step 2 CS passed
Had ECFMG certificate
-Step 3 passed (238, first attempt)

I did my first five publications during my cardiology training. I have done last three publications in US. I randomly emailed every state, academic hospitals for research and observer ship opportunity. Emails didn't work and in person application to cardiology department provided this opportunity. you should find some Mentor who interested in research, and has so many publications and strong CV. But don't forget research and publications are not enough for finding residency position. You are applying for clinical position not research position; so you have to find observerhip or ideally clerk ship while you are pursuing for research opportunity.
After you find an opportunity it is easy: work hard, show passion. That would provide you strong letter,first or second author publications, and other connections.
