is it all about contacts now - bumblebee09

@ bumblebee09,

Don't limit yourself to one more go; never quit, especially with scores like you have. I'll highly recommend taking Step 3 and passing it before you apply again. It makes a world of a difference when the PD is less concerned about you having to take it during residency.

Contacts in my opinion are not as glamorous as folks may think. I used contacts last cycle for FM and didn't match. I had some serious contacts for Psych this time around and ranked it #1 but strangely enough, I matched in an IM program that I did not have contacts and ranked #2. It was a miracle straight from God. Nothing short.

I know it may be easier said than done with the financial burden that comes with it, but keep the hope alive at all cost. All it takes is one successful match eventually to wipe all the pain away and set you on the path to almost $200,000 annually and your dreams of practice.

God bless you.

My scores are 189/205/cs/203. Got 4 ivs in fm and 2 in IM.
matched at my first choice in IM. I HAD NO CONTACTS AT ALL IN ANY OF THESE PLACES.
I honestly think that passing step 3 plus having a good interview is the key.
