Is it adivisable to get the contract read by an attorney or should we just go ahead and sign it?

As far as i know.. you cannot change anything in the contract.. you have to sign it as is..

That question does come up a lot. You do not have much to negotiate. It is usually take it or leave it and we will get someone else if you don't want to sign. I would advise sign the contract unless there is something in the contract you cannot live with. However if you don't sign you may not be able to do your residency at this institution. It is for one year at a time and not a permanent job. I would advise accept what you are given and get your training.

But make sure you read it and understand so that later on you don't have surprises
