14yrs of practice outside usa! - drsmita

Hi everyone
I am a postgraduate from India , worked in india for 14yrs as medical officer. now shifted to usa. step 1 score 235. now preparing for step 2. am confident of scoring fairly well, but I have no experience or connections in the us.
will my years of practice/job as govt. medical officer count for or against me in residency match?
I am on L2/ead. with green card in process.

hold p.g in ob. gy done in 2003 and a second pg in psychiatry done recently in 2010 in ...looking for psychiatry residency here... help/advice please.
