How long does it take to get certified? - marq

Hello everyone,

How long does it approximately take to get certified (to actually GET the certificate) if you're just about to sit for Step 1? What are waiting periods for Step 1, 2 CK and CS results and finally certificate?

P.S. Just one more question: what are transitional year and preliminary?

for IMG you need to wait for your scores to be reported( u dont need to get them, just being reported)..
for step 1,2 it takes about 3 weeks for the score to be reported.. yet u need to wait few days or weeks till u recieve them
for the C/S.. u can review the reporting schedule on the USMLE for this year.. some get reported after 3 weeks, other need 8 weeks..

anyway, whenever you pass s1,2 and c/s, you can consider yourself certificated.
