Is externship of value only if it is done in a hospital setting?
Can one do it in a doctor's office? any input will be appreciated thanks

My uncle( Family Physician) , My Aunt(Paediatrician) and My cousin ( Interventional Cardiologist) All are in great settings.
Can I work with them and count it as an externship? And can I get LORs from them? I heard you can't get LORs from your relatives...But I'm on F-2 visa and there is no way to get a research or externship position without a social security number... Really confused....

I take history, examine patient in a clinic. Does this count as Externship? Confused.......................

from what i was told, an externship has to be from a teaching hospital. but that doesnt mean if you do clinic work, you wouldnt get a good LOR. so if you have nothing else, i would do it, b/c its connections, and it helps.
