on J1 visa married to US citizenship holder - docrv
#1
Hello,

I am an Indian physician currently in US on J1 visa. I am married to US citizen (born in US).
I heard that I will still have to do J1 waiver for 3 yrs.
My employer is about to file for H1 visa (J1 waiver) in few weeks.
I heard that the process can be different and that I can apply for EAD rather than H1 and work in J1 waiver site for 3 yrs.
Please let me know if this is possible and any other useful info in my case.

Thanks

Marriage itself does not waive the requirements. There are only few conditions you can get waiver. See the link:

Once some one accepts J-1, the only way to get rid of this curse is to do the waiver.
no other way ( not even if you Mary Obama's daughter).
wish you good luck bro !!
