Biostat Q, please help! - cinnamoncrunch
#1
Can someone please explain this for me? I'm totally confused with the q and the answer.

A large prospective study is designed to assess the association between postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and the risk of dementia, Alzheimer type. Small studies conducted earlier suggest a possible protective effect of HRT. What is the probability that the study will show an association if in fact HRT does affect he risk of dementia?

alpha
beta
w-a
1-B
type I error
Type II error

The answer is 1-B
