dr_caree told some lies about the program.

1- Former PD did NOT get fired, he resigned to take up a higher position as the chair of Psychiatry at another new york city hospital.

2- Is the program malignant? Not really, no more than most programs in New York City. Residency is not designed to be a fun time of your life. If you are looking for a program where they serve you a chocolate drink every morning and you see 2 patients a day and work 4 days a week then this program or any program in Harlem is not for you. If you want a program that grills you with challenging patients in a challenging work environment with challenging hours, you will do well here.
So basically lazy doctors will hate Harlem hospital.

3- Residents are not happy? Not correct. Folks, residency training is not designed to make you happy anywhere. Anywhere you go prepare to be overworked, underpaid, run errands and suck up when you have to. Harlem is no different.

4- The program is on probation? True. So are many programs including several big name university programs. The program also has a 100% pass rate on board exams for several years in a row.
