A 1 wk old infant is brought to the ER due to the vomiting and poor feeding. The prenatal and birth histories are unremarkable. The infants pulse is 140/min, temp 37 C (98.7 F) and capillary refill is 2 seconds. He has sunken eyes and depressed anterior fontanel and dry mucus membranes, skin elasticity is reduced.
