2005yog/board certified at home country
217/231/2nd attempt/no USCE/need visa
This was 2nd match. But I didn't have any USCE.
So no ivs during 2years.

I consider step3 and observership now.
The problem is my family. I have to make a living.
As I know the situation in the US, it is very hard to decide.

What would you do? Forgive up or try?
My surroundings are quite a bit stable. So I'm afraid of failure.
I have to quit my job and stay there for several months.
That's OK.
Most afraid thing is a view of my family and friends.
Really stressful for me.

The USMLE itself is a risk, but when it pays off, it pays off big!

If you read through this forum. you will realize one thing, like rolling a dice, match outcomes are highly unpredictable. High score/Low score, young or old graduate, everyone seems to be susceptible to the uncertainties.

My take: Go all out! Get your step 3 in, do any observership you can, make any connection you can, pick an aspect of your credential and focus intensely on it! Be brave, be confident! Always remember that in this USMLE game, the best time to strike is now! Never put anything away because time is constantly working against you.

Finally: If this works out for you, you will forget the struggles instantly and God forbid it doesnt, hold you head high and never have the regrets of what could have been.

Good Luck to you and your family!

I totally agree with you. I'm just afraid of failure.
As I'm getting older, it's hard to challenge to new one, especially I'm quite a bit stable situation in my country. But I know sometime, I'll regret it.
Thank you for your advice and I decided to challenge.
