RCA 100% blocked, angioplasty still? - hopeseekr
#1

My uncle 35yrs old had a heart attack 3 weeks ago.His angiography showed 65% blockage of proximal RCA and 100% blockage in mid RCA just before it branches to Marginal Artery. His physician has recommended 2 stents to be placed in RCA at proximal and mid positions. However another physician is of the opinion that putting a stent with 100% blockage is unethical, risky and not worth it. Any advice is welcome. Also people with similar experience please comment. Please help.

Thank you in advance

this depends on the remaining viable myocardium and status of other arteries and money he has. if the territory supplied by RCA has viable myocardium, go for stent.

now a days, stenting in 100% blockade is possible, safe.

by the way, did he have inf MI?

For everyone's information: It is unethical to provide medical advice without seeing and examining a patient.

And to tell someone, "yes, let your father get a surgerical procedure" based on your uninformed and uneducated opinion is really unethical and criminal.

Just because someone says don't listen to people on the INTERNET and go see a doctor doesn't mean we are saying YOU don't know enough. It's not about YOU, get over yourself.
