Traumatic transection vs dissection of aorta - arunima

Best step for both - cxr - widened mediastinum ->> Spiral CT for both ( best next step). Only in case of suspected traumatic transection of ascending aorta in an unstable patient in ER we do TEE . Is it correct ??

I think I am wrong here, only in ascending aorta dissection cases in ER we do TEE. Otherwise mostly Spiral CT in all cases. Although Aortogram is done in cases of suspected traumatic transection of Aorta if CT is negative.
Please help me here@ cardio, munchkino..
