H4 EAD residency - acesteps15

i have few questions about H4 EAD?

1) are H4 ead AND GREEN CARD ead same when it comes to accepting prematch?
2) how many people do you know are DOING residency on H4 EAD?

i really appreciate all your answers guys.

I don't know what you mean by mentioning "when accepting prematch", but they are probably not the same.

Green card gives you unrestricted privileges to live and work in the US, no sponsorship needed.

On an H4 EAD you depend on the H1B holder and your EAD will be valid as long as the primary H1B status is maintained. The EAD will not be valid when the primary H1B expires and you will probably have to extend such H4 if the H1B is still valid and is extended, or change your visa status to an H1B if the primary H1B holder cannot extend it. That is if you don't transition to GC at some point in the process.

If your H4 EAD will expire and you will not transition to GC, you have to find out from the residency program offering you that position if they will sponsor your H1B if needed. That is where it is a disadvantage compared to a GC.
