What does this mean for those in need of visas. Should we all try to obtain J1s or still try for H1B's.
But if the salary cutoff hikes to $130K what will that mean. Very few residency program pays their interns over $60K a far as I know, and pretty much none over $100K. Are Medical Residents somehow exempt from this salary requirement as they are of the H1B cap?
Does anyone know of any residency program stand over this?
My thinking is that the bill will take some time to be transformed to a law, so hopefully maybe this year candidates won't be affected, however I'm wondering what the repercussions may be to those of us who may have to face next year's match.
