Q: Neonate has murmur at apex, which is normal transient finding in upto 50% of newborns. WHich of the following actions concerning informing parents about the murmur is most appropriate?
a.Tell the parents and examine the infant again in 24 hours.
b. Tell the parents that this finding is normal but offer a cardiology consultation.

Any help?

I think a may be right. If you tell the parent that is normal, thy may not accept the offer of cardiology consultation. And you still have about 50 percent neonates with that murmur are not normal.
