Possibility for observerships on J1 research - cardiomd

Hello all

Kindly offer thoughts on this-
I will be on self funded J1 research visa soon. I would like to know if it is permitted to do observerships at another hospital not related to my sponsor program during this period. I will not be paid for the observership and wont get academic credits too. It is only to help me in match when I apply in future.

why cant you apply for externships... those are way better to help in your resume
